Having backpacked through Europe with their four children during the Jubilee year 2000, the Scaperlandas include their own stories in the book. Examining what it means to live a pilgrim life, how to make all travel sacred, and what “travel tools” can help promote a pilgrim attitude, the authors also include practical tips for taking a traditional Catholic pilgrimage and helpful appendices that list major pilgrimage sites, topics for journaling, and various travel resources.
