The official Seoul Catholic Pilgrimage is a 44.1-kilometer, 24-site sacred way. Its Word, Life, and Unity courses tell one history in three movements and should be explored separately rather than compressed into a generic city walk.
Practical details reviewedOn September 14, 2018 at Seosomun, Archbishop Rino Fisichella—then president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization—presented the Holy See’s recognition of the 24-site Seoul pilgrimage as an international pilgrimage route.

Vatican News recognition report ↗The Word, Life, and Unity courses are the three parts of the officially recognized 44.1-kilometer pilgrimage. Seoul’s shorter municipal Bukchon, Seosomun, and Hangang walking-tour products are useful tourism subsets, but they are not replacements for the official courses.
Seoul city route overview ↗The 8.7-kilometer Word and 5.9-kilometer Life courses can each anchor a day. The 29.5-kilometer Unity course usually needs splitting or transit. Some stops are outdoor markers rather than open churches, and campus or museum access can change.

Sacred ways
Every route card states its form of recognition so an official Catholic pilgrimage, a devotional tradition, and an independent modern trail are never treated as the same thing.
