Why pilgrims come

A sacred place worth the journey.

Romania's best-known Catholic pilgrimage shrine and the heart of the great Pentecost pilgrimage, centered on a venerated sixteenth-century statue of the Virgin Mary under Franciscan custody. Pope Francis celebrated Mass here in 2019. The shrine is Marian devotion, not a formal apparition site.
