Why pilgrims come

A sacred place worth the journey.

The sanctuary complex in St. José Gregorio Hernández’s birthplace preserves his birth-site memory, a diocesan museum of personal objects, and the Venezuelan pilgrimage devoted to the physician of the poor. He was canonized on October 19, 2025; older material calling him Blessed must now be read in that historical sequence.
