Why pilgrims come

A sacred place worth the journey.

One of Albania's largest pilgrimage centers, a Catholic shrine of St. Anthony of Padua visited by Catholics and many neighbors of other faiths. Its annual June pilgrimage and continuing visits during Communist prohibition are documented; broad attendance does not change its Catholic and Franciscan identity.
