Why pilgrims come

A sacred place worth the journey.

The central pilgrimage shrine of the Diocese of Novo Mesto preserves the relics of Blessed Alojzij Grozde, the young Catholic Action member killed in 1943 and beatified as a martyr in 2010. His relics were translated here in 2011; he is Blessed, not canonized.
