One of Rome’s four papal basilicas, built above the tomb of St. Paul.

This spacious papal basilica is the Roman pilgrimage destination for the Apostle to the Gentiles. Its long nave leads deliberately toward Paul’s tomb, while the monastic community, daily liturgy and cloister make it one of the most peaceful of Rome’s major basilicas.
