Why pilgrims come

A sacred place worth the journey.

Rijeka's Franciscan Marian shrine preserves the Trsat Holy House tradition, a venerated image, votive memory, and the 2003 pilgrimage of St. John Paul II. The Holy House story is received tradition, not a claim that the present Trsat buildings are the house now venerated at Loreto.
