Why pilgrims come
A sacred place worth the journey.
The excavated Roman city of Stobi preserves several early-Christian churches, including the fifth-century Episcopal Basilica and baptistery. Bishop Budios of Stobi attended the Council of Nicaea in 325. This is a state archaeological site and ancient episcopal landscape, not a functioning Catholic parish or shrine.
