The story

Dominic de Guzmán was a Castilian canon and preacher whose ministry in southern France helped shape the Order of Preachers. Study, common life, poverty, and preaching became defining features of the Dominican vocation.

Prouilhe and Fanjeaux preserve the landscape of his early preaching and community foundations. Santa Sabina represents the Order’s Roman memory, while Bologna preserves his principal tomb and the final chapter of his life.

How to read this pilgrimage

A Dominican pilgrimage moves from preaching and foundation in southern France to the Order’s Roman setting and Dominic’s tomb in Bologna.
