The story
Thérèse Martin was born in Alençon and entered the Carmel of Lisieux as a teenager. Her spiritual autobiography, commonly known as Story of a Soul, gave the Church a direct account of her “little way”: confidence in God expressed through faithful love in ordinary actions.
She died at twenty-four, yet her writing reached far beyond the enclosure. The Church later named her patroness of the missions and a Doctor of the Church. A pilgrimage can join the domestic places that formed her, the Carmel where she lived, and the churches that preserve her sacramental memory.

Alençon tells the story of birth, baptism, and the Martin family; Lisieux centers on childhood, Carmelite life, relics, and worldwide devotion. Other shrines represent later devotion rather than events from her lifetime.
