1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to catholictourist.com and related Catholic Tourist features operated by Amabile Media LLC ("Catholic Tourist," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use an account or submission feature.
2. The service
Catholic Tourist is an independent editorial and trip-planning resource for Catholic pilgrimage destinations. The public map may be browsed without an account. Features may change, pause, or be discontinued as the catalog and supporting systems develop.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must authorize your use. You agree to provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report unauthorized access.
Your account may contain information capable of revealing religious interests. Use these features only if you want Catholic Tourist to store that information to provide your trips, wish list, visited history, and notes. Do not store medical records, payment information, confidential pastoral communications, or another person’s sensitive information.
We may suspend or close accounts used for abuse, unlawful activity, interference with the service, impersonation, or repeated violation of these Terms. Account deletion and data requests may be submitted to info@amabilemedia.com.
5. Travel, liturgy, and safety information
Opening hours, Mass and confession schedules, relic displays, accessibility, lodging, transportation, admission, visas, and safety conditions can change without notice. Verify critical details with the official destination and relevant authorities before traveling. Catholic Tourist is not a travel agency and does not guarantee admission, sacraments, accommodations, transportation, or safety.
6. Independent status and Church recognition
Catholic Tourist is not an official publication of the Holy See, the Vatican, a bishops’ conference, diocese, parish, shrine, religious institute, or tourism authority. Terms such as "approved," "nihil obstat," "shrine," and "basilica" are editorial summaries of identified sources, not declarations by Catholic Tourist. Canonization of a person does not by itself authenticate every relic, apparition, miracle, or private revelation associated with that person.
7. Destination submissions and community contributions
You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant Catholic Tourist a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, review, edit for clarity, reproduce, publish, and display that content for operating, improving, and promoting Catholic Tourist. You may request removal of a published contribution, although archival, backup, legal, and already-distributed copies may persist where reasonably necessary.
You may not submit content that is knowingly false or misleading; infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights; contains another person’s private or sensitive information without authority; is defamatory, threatening, hateful, obscene, or unlawful; or presents an unverified supernatural or medical claim as an official Church judgment or established fact. Personal testimonies must be presented as personal accounts, not independently verified proof.
Submissions enter an editorial review queue. We may decline, edit, defer, or remove them and are not obligated to publish or respond.
8. Catholic Tourist content
The site design, original writing, organization, software, and compilation are owned by Catholic Tourist or its licensors and protected by applicable law. Factual information and third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights. You may use public pages for personal, noncommercial pilgrimage planning and share ordinary links. Republishing, scraping at scale, reselling, or creating a competing database from Catholic Tourist’s protected compilation requires written permission.
9. Third-party services
The service links to official destinations, map providers, and other third parties. Those services are controlled by their operators and governed by their own terms and privacy practices. A link is provided for convenience or sourcing and does not by itself imply endorsement.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Catholic Tourist disclaims warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Catholic Tourist and its owners, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, travel costs, missed liturgies, denied access, injury, or loss arising from use of or reliance on the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid Catholic Tourist for the relevant service during the preceding 12 months.
11. Responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your submitted content, or your material violation of these Terms. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify Catholic Tourist for Catholic Tourist’s own unlawful conduct.
12. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Florida, unless applicable law gives you the right to proceed elsewhere.
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date and additional notice where reasonably required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
